My journey in this field began with adolescent and more recently with the adult populations, which both have their own special qualities. I use a variety of techniques, based on the need of the client, in an effort to help identify the core issue leading to their distress. Often, we come to therapy to seek solace from distress, therefore, I feel that the most important piece of the therapeutic journey is developing a relationship with unconditional positive regard, judgment-free environments and empowering opportunities. My theory is that the key to successful therapy is giving the client the ability to empower themselves to move forward and face adversity using skills that foster growth, rather than distress.
